It is so exciting to have a brand new home, but there is SO much to do to make it your own! With a new home you have to think about all the things that you don’t have to think about with a resale. I have so many ideas swirling around in my head that I want to do to the house to turn it into a space that my family will love to come home to. Landscaping, window treatments, built-ins, lighting….aahhh! But right now I am focused on choosing pendants for the new kitchen!
We have an open concept home. The kitchen is the living room is the dining room. The spaces all run into each other so I want to divide the spaces without feeling the divide. Does that make any sense? I want to define each space but not separate them and I want them to compliment each other.
The island is huge at 12′ long so whatever I choose has to be substantial to embrace the size of the island. My last house had a 5′ x 4′ island with a sink in the middle of it so I am so excited for the space to spread out when baking or entertaining!
I have a few different options that I like but I need to narrow it down. I love material/drum lighting but I also love glass and metal. It is so hard for me to choose! Each pendant adds something different to the space. Here are the options:
The Flynn Recycled Glass Pendant from Pottery Barn (here)
These white nautical pendant lights are pretty, too! I found them here.
These black drum shade pendants are so pretty and add another layer of cozy elegance to the space.
I love (these)!
Each pendant style gives the kitchen a different feel and I love each one for different reasons. Which one is your favorite? What speaks to you and is your style? I would love for you to weigh in and let me know! I can’t wait to get this project done. The room feels so empty and I can’t wait to add another layer to make the room feel more cozy.
I will post the dilemma on Instagram and have you vote so be sure to head over to my stories and weigh in!
