The sweat. Oh gosh the sweat!
This summer has been so so HOT! The hottest year on record in the history of all time.
And when I was in Vegas a couple of weeks ago it was 105°. And I ran a mile in it!
Wait.
It gets better.
I ran in my wedges, cute jeans, a cute top and carrying a cute purse. And I laughed.
I laughed so hard I almost peed my pants because my friend was running, too.
Why??
Because, for the love of all things holy, we didn’t want to miss the show we had tickets to.
See, we went to the wrong hotel for the show and the correct place was a mile away. We looked at it. We looked at the taxi line. We looked at eachother…..and we ran! My feet still hurt, lol. We looked like soggy french fries by the time we got there.
And that sums up how my summer has been going. Just trying to get there. Anywhere.
How has your summer been going? Have you done all the things you planned on doing? Did you finish that project you started? Or cleaned those closets you bought the organizing bins for?
Me? I did not. I am still (unfortunately) working on my master closet. Can you believe it?
For those of you that have been around a while you know I tore apart my master closet. And it has taken me a while to get it back together. The problem is that one excuse became another and so on. I built it all and then put all of our things away without finishing the fine details. The wallpaper, the crown molding, the special trim. It would have been better and more motivating if everything was still laying all over my house waiting to be dealt with. Putting it all away just created space for me to procrastinate.
You can see the closet and the plan in this post.
The truth is that life got in the way and I chose all the other things over the closet.
So, if you are like me and have a project that you need a little boost of motivation for, you are not alone so listen up!
I am thinking of running a challenge that will give our community some accountability and motivation to finish those projects that have been shoved to the back burner. What better way to celebrate Back-to-School than a little flame lit under us? What do you think? If you like the idea, leave a comment so I can gauge how many of us would like to participate. And tell me one person that you also think would love it in your comment.
In other news my baby girl, the youngest of 4, is moving to college in a week!! How did this happen so fast? One minute she is 10 and hanging on me at a Taylor Swift concert and the next she is off to University! 😭😭 I am so sad and so excited at the same time. It is very bittersweet. I will be sharing all the things we bought for her dorm (eeeeek it’s all so cute!) and her set up when we get there so follow along on IG stories!
I am so excited to see her flourish and I am also sad to see her go. I tear up every time I think about it. She, on the other hand, is so excited! She is nervous of course, but more excited to be on her own. This isn’t our first time so I know she will miss home even if she doesn’t think so. She says she will be coming home all the time to do laundry because the dorm facilities will ruin her clothes. HAHAHAHA! She will be a couple hours away….I don’t think so. I think she will be using the detergent I bought her even though she told me not to do it.
She is spending her last weekend before college with her friends at a lake house and having the time of her life this weekend. And so it begins.
And if you’re wondering about the cutest little human on the planet right now, my grandson is now 4 1/2 months old, can you believe it? I get to see him a lot and I’m not mad about it! Gosh, he is so cute! Also, how did my daughter just birth a human a few months ago?!
What is happening on the blog for the month of August?

I hope you have a beautiful weekend! We will. Right now I am doing Yoga on the Rocks at Red Rocks. I have been up since 4:30 and got to see the sunrise over the city and mountainside. Try to make it some time. It’s magical!
