Happy Mother’s Day!!!
Even if you aren’t a mother, you have one, and I want to take the moment to celebrate all moms today!
This day presses us all to take a moment out of our busy lives to celebrate the amazing woman that raised you or that you have become.
But today can also be a bitter reminder that we think we aren’t enough, or not doing enough, of a lost relationship, lost child, a lost mother, or infertility. It can bring up so many difficult emotions.
And let me just stop right here and tell you that, no matter where you find yourself today, I celebrate you!
You are amazing. And you are enough. And you are doing or have done the best you can. I appreciate you right where you are.
So, what are you doing today?
We are having the family over to my house. All 6 kids, my new grandson, and my mom.
And possibly a couple of grand-dogs throw in to keep it interesting!
My daughter became a first-time mom 5 weeks ago so we also get to celebrate her today. ICYMI, I got to be there to watch my grandson be born, and let me just say….the emotions of it all got me good! Watching my oldest baby have a baby was one of the most amazing and beautiful things I have ever experienced!
She is so exhausted but so deliriously happy. He loves to eat. And eat. And eat. He sleeps a lot in the day and doesn’t sleep at night. And right now she cannot imagine it being any different.
If you can relate, I promise you that it will change and get better!
If you have littles, stop and appreciate the excitement they will have when serving you that dry, burnt piece of toast and half glass of orange juice alongside the little homemade cards and noodle necklaces. These moments will change and morph over the years and, even though they still love you, they will never bring you a noodle necklace with that much excitement when they are 20, lol. I can sincerely tell you that!
My mom is also in town visiting from Seattle so I get to spend the day with her. It’s so rainy and gloomy here today and it makes my mom feel right at home, lol!
No matter where you are or what you are doing today, I wish you the BEST day and am sending you lots of hugs!
My week ahead:
Welcome to MAYCEMBER!!! Aside from today, we have another full week ahead. It feels like these weeks just keep being consistently crazy.
If you have kids, then you know what I mean. The end of the school year is SO full and if you have a graduating Senior like me then there is an extra helping of crazy thrown in there!
Today is Mother’s Day, my son’s birthday is on Wednesday, and my baby graduates high school on Thursday, we will be celebrating her on Friday and throw in a few other grad parties into the mix and that makes for an extremely FULL week!
If your days are crazy like mine, let’s all try to enjoy the crazy and settle into it. I can honestly say, with this being my last baby in the house, that this season in life comes in like a tornado. Fast and furious. And then it’s over and you look around you, you will wonder what in the heck just happened!
Hopefully, this video will make you feel less alone in Maycember, ha!

This week on the blog:
I was talking about my hair changes this week on IG and had a ton of you express what you think is going on, that you are experiencing the same thing, want to know what I am doing to correct it, and what is working for me.
I will share all the things this coming week! It is too much for an IG story. So, if you were wanting to know all the things stay tuned!
I also finally organized my kitchen and OMG I can’t wait to share all the things with you! How I organized my spices, where I sourced everything, and how I took a deep drawer full of things that had no home and made a place for everything! Spoiler alert: my hubby now likes cooking!
ICYMI:
Wishing you the best day today!! Have a blessed week, friend!
