Good morning! I hope this finds you happy and sunny today. I am so glad you’re here in my little corner of the internet!
Let’s catch up!
I woke up to a cold, snow-covered yard again the other day. To say that I have had enough of winter weather is an understatement. This season just seems to drag on and on.
I had to wear a sweater and a coat yesterday when I left the house because it was a chilly 25 degrees. And it’s almost MAY!
So, what’s been happening over here at April Colleen other than the wish for better weather?
Have you ever had a time in your life when so many things have happened in such a short amount of time that when you get through it all and turn around you are in awe of what just happened?
These past few weeks have been a total blur in my world. So much goodness and so much to be thankful for.
My daughter and her husband + their 2 dogs moved in with us in October 2022 for “just a few weeks” as their new home was being completed. Fast forward 5 months later and they were finally moving into it.
When they moved out of our home she was due any day and 41 weeks pregnant with our first grandchild so I helped them move and get settled in. Completely settled in. So much that they don’t have anything else that needs to be put away which is amazing!
I also love that my Son-in-Law calls me (not my husband) to help him hang the TV, install all the baby/dog gates, and do all of the things like that. He told me I make everything look so easy and every time I come over, he asks me if I feel like doing some sort of task. “Feel like hanging a TV?” “How do you feel about drilling into tile?” “Do you think you can bring your big saw?”. And I love it.
We have known him since they started dating in high school and he has watched all of the projects I have done over the years. It makes me happy that he has so much confidence in my abilities to get things done with him. I must make him feel a little more comfortable and less overwhelmed with these tasks and I am so glad that we moved back to Colorado so I can be close to ALL of my kids.
I got to help my daughter design her home and it is so fun to see how everything we chose over the course of 2.5 years come together. The finishes are beautiful and I am really excited about the way it all turned out. My BFF and I worked really hard this past week to help decorate their house since she just doesn’t have the time right now and it was SO FUN!
I will be sharing all the details soon like where we found things and how to pair them together to create a collected home that looks like it took years to put together! Plus my number one tip to make it all look intentional!
Everything came from different sources but paired together it all looks amazing!
Here’s a sneaky peek at some moments in their home!
One week after they moved into their new place our grandson was born and I became a “Mimi”! His name is Dallas Cooper. What a strong name! I actually got to be there for the whole thing from labor to delivery and watch him come into this world. I am so proud of my daughter’s strength. And I got so emotional when he was born because it was just such a beautiful experience. What a blessing!
I love him so much that my heart feels like it’s going to burst! I want to bring him home with me and keep him, but my daughter said I can’t LOL!
Have you seen this Netflix special with Leanne Morgan? I can so relate to this!! It’s hilarious!! Check it out below for a good laugh.

A few days later our 4th and last baby turned 18, the next day was Easter and also my 50th birthday! Fifty! 5-0!
So, how am I doing? Right now I’m catching my breath, that’s for sure. However, pulling my daughter’s home together with beautiful finds has lit a new fire inside me and has made me want to add things to spruce up my home. I have spent so much time doing really big projects like finishing my entire basement and the garage and building things that I haven’t really paused to really enjoy the process of making my home if that makes any sense.
Here are some things you may have missed lately on the blog
So many good things to come this month so stay tuned!! I can’t wait to share it all with you!
Have a blessed week, friend!
