This wreath is so simple. An easy, no fuss (ok, a little fuss) black crow wreath for Halloween.
This year we have a new home and a cute new front porch and I want to do something with my cute front porch.
It would be a shame not to!
I wanted something not too scary, or spooky for the littles that will be trick-or-treating.
And something not too cute, either.
So I came up with black crow decor and wreath for my front door.
And I think it is adorable.
You can make one, too! It only took me 45 minutes.
Here is what you will need:
One large, dead twig/branch (found around the neighborhood)
Grapevine wreath
Black spray paint. I got the $2 paint – no need for the expensive stuff
Wire or twine
Crows (I bought these)
Black feathers (assorted)
Spanish moss for nest.
Ribbon (I bought this) but this would also be so cute!
Hot glue gun/glue sticks
Here is how I did it:
Tie a twig to your wreath with wire. Be sure to secure it well.
Spray paint the whole thing black.I didn’t bother painting the back, just the front, center and sides really well.
Add the spanish moss to create a nest. Hot glue in place. Be sure to glue it down so it doesn’t “shed” every time you open the door.
Add your crows wherever you want. I cut the feet off of mine and just hot glued them in place to make them secure.
Add some feathers. Start with your longest feathers first. Then keep layering in until satisfied. There is no right or wrong way to do this!
Create a bow with your ribbon and make sure to leave enough for a tail and to hang it from your door or wall.
Add the long ribbon you are using to hang it from the door.
Add your bow with wire once it is hung.
And look at what you just did in an hour!
I hope this is as fun for you as it was for me. I can’t wait to see what you make! Happy Fall!
