Good morning from beautiful, sunny Colorado! The weather is much better today. Yesterday it rained most of the day and was chilly. It made me sad because it felt like summer was really ending.
ICYMI, there is a HUGE rival game going on today between CU and CSU and it is allllll anyone is talking about. Coach Prime is probably about to put it on the RAMS and everybody everywhere is going to watch it unfold. It’s the perfect football weather today with temps in the high 70s.
The game is tonight but the festivities started yesterday on campus in Boulder. The coverage is insane!! The trash talk is kind of fun and the students are all about it. Have you seen any of it where you are? Or is it just us?
About Fall decor. I made the prettiest wreath this week and swapped out my adorable lemon wreath, that a bird made a nest in and pooped all over, for a fresh one for Fall.
It was really easy and will have a tutorial this week! Just 6 stems, some ribbon, and a straw wreath form is all it took for this sweet little gem!
I wasn’t going to make one so I found us some pretty options over on Amazon, but I saw the prettiest sunflowers and couldn’t resist!
Also coming this week is my Restoration Hardware Waxed Gray Stain Dupe that everyone is loving! I will reveal the steps I took to get that perfect stain and I can’t wait to share!! EEEK! I used it when I made my corbels for my entryway table last year and I think it turned out perfect!
Have you ever looked back at something you did and been impressed with yourself? This morning I got lost down the rabbit hole of my photos in my phone. I watched an HOUR of videos of my basement finish from 2020 and it is so, so crazy! The amount of content I have and never shared with you is insane so I want to dive in and share allllll the details of that finish.
I had forgotten about a lot of what I did and I am actually happily reminded of how awesome that job was. And it was during Covid which was a really hard time for our kids. My daughter helped me so much and it was a fun distraction. Nothing like hard work to get your mind off of things out of your control.
My basement finish may have been what brought you here to this community! If so, that is awesome and I can’t wait to share all of that with you guys. I did so much like hang doors, lay all the flooring, add all the trim, planned, built, and installed our 14′ bar…the list goes on and on!
What’s on the agenda for the rest of September?
I don’t think I will get to the gym makeover. Darn it! That is life. There is just so much going and not much left to September. Did you know that I started my closet makeover October 1, 2022??
It took me months to collect all the supplies from IKEA because everyone else was also building closets! Once I got all the pieces I started my build. I JUST finished the project two weeks ago. WHY DID IT TAKE SO LONG?? I can’t wait to share all of that, too!
In other news….
You guys, my mom is 77 and still works full-time as a consultant for Expedia in Seattle. Like, she goes into the city on the ferry and manages an insane amount of projects. She is like the energizer bunny and impresses me daily. I only hope to have her energy when I am 77!!
Well, she is finally retiring on Monday!! For real. She has worked my entire life and I still cannot believe it! I am really happy for her!!!
Also, they are building a house and I am so excited for them! I am going to help her pick out all of the finishes. I used to sell new homes for a builder back in Indianapolis and have built a few homes so I have tips on where to upgrade and where to just accept the base items included in the new home.
Remember when I built their deck last summer? It’s a good thing I did because it will definitely help sell their home in the woods.
It was so nice to catch up with you today! So many things to talk about and not enough time! I could go on and on and on! If you don’t keep up with me on IG, pop over there, give me a follow and say “hi”! You can keep up with daily projects and shares there and see life on another level.
I hope you have the best week ahead!! Remember to keep creating. Every day is a gift!
