Happy Monday! We are getting settled in our new home. It has been 6 weeks since we have moved in and I am still trying to find the things that I need and love to use in my kitchen. Because I have been redoing the floors, I haven’t bothered to fully unpack. Plus I am trying to figure out how to organize my smaller kitchen and pantry to serve my family best. Going through my old kitchen when I was packing and cleaning out my cupboards and pantry inspired me to share my most favorite kitchen gadgets in that I cannot live without. I hope you love them, too.
You may own some or all of the same things, but there might be something here that you never knew you needed. I’ve raved about these items on different occasions in my Instagram Stories and want to share them with you all in one place! Here are my 13 most useful kitchen gadgets in my kitchen in no particular order. They all share my heart equally.
// Salad Spinner We eat a TON of salads. Since we both work from home, my hubby usually makes them for us for lunch. We will place a nice big piece of salmon or my favorite low-fat chicken salad on top with a bunch of other goodies. We can’t stand the bagged or boxed lettuce. It never seems to last very long and did you know that they wash the “ready to eat” it with bleach? No thank you! This spins all of the excess water from washing your salad right off. No bleaching necessary!
// Produce Keeper Once you chop, wash and spin your lettuce, you need a place to store it. Try these produce keepers. I absolutely love them because I can place our freshly washed lettuce in there and it will stay fresh for over a week! Not that it lasts that long because we eat salads so frequently, but from time to time it is in there for a while without turning brown or wilting. These are awesome! Be sure to order plenty of these Carbon filters for your keepers so things stay ultra fresh!
// Cheese Slicer If you have jumped on the charcuterie board train or entertain at all, this slicer will be a game changer. It is adjustable to you can create the desired thickness of your slices. It has raving reviews and is a solid utensil. You will love!
// Egg Cooker You can use my no-fail easy peel hard boiled egg method (found here) or there’s this. Egg perfection. If you are anything like me in the kitchen, I get distracted very easily. With this you can set it and forget about it. It will turn itself off!
// Chopper If you have followed along with me for any amount of time, you know that I call this my “one stop chop shop”. Great for prepping salads, omelettes, soups….you name it. It cuts down my prep time significantly and that is a win for me! It cleans up easily and IT’S GREAT FOR KIDS! They can help in the kitchen and I don’t have to worry about them getting hurt.
// Cheese Grater I am all about keeping things fresh with ease in the kitchen and I love discovering new things that will make my life a little bit easier. Gone are the days of hauling out a stand grater that always poses the possibility of shaving off a little bit of my finger along with whatever it is I am grating (sorry….gross, but you know what I mean). This little number is a grater and a storage container in one. So, grate and store….fresh and easy!
// Gripper Think about anything that you need to open. You need these. That is all.
// Bottle Top Aerator for Wine We used to use a glass decanter for our red wine and now we use this. Our son-in-law gave us this for Christmas one year and we have used it over and over again. It pushes air through the wine and improves the flavor of the wine immediately allowing it to open up quicker. Honestly there is a huge difference between when we pour it directly out of the bottle vs. using this aerator.
// Oil/Vinegar Dispenser Set With all of the salads we eat, we needed oil and vinegar at our fingertips. I love these because they look good on the counter together, have a dual spout so that you have a side that distributes larger or smaller amounts of oil when needed.
// KitchenAid Stand Mixer I used to think that this was a ridiculous purchase…until I spoiled myself for Christmas and bought one (from my husband to me because that’s how we roll). I have been using it nonstop so much so that it has found a permanent home on the kitchen counter. I use it to shred beef and chicken and I have started to bake a little more. Did you see my stenciled royal icing cookies? I was able to achieve them and get everything just right because of this handy mixer!
// 5 Piece Utensil Set I love this set because it is beautiful with the Acacia wood handle, but the useable part is made of FDA approved silicone. I love the beauty of a wooden utensil with the performance of the silicone. I like to have them handy right next to the stove in some sort of crock for quick access. This is a cute holder to display/store these utensils on the countertop.
// Instant Pot It is a game changer and I have made some of our favorite meals in here…..in a fraction of the time. Pot Roast, shredded chicken, chicken soup, steamed potatoes…the list goes on and on. You can do so many things with this cooker. Pressure cooker, slow cooker, rice cooker, steamer, saute, yogurt maker…and it keeps things warm on a timer. I love that you can saute meat and vegetables and then use the pressure cook setting and only use ONE pot.
// Spiralizer I like this one because it winds down and all you have to do is place your vegetable on top and wind downward right into a container. It also comes with several attachments including a little juicer. Easy to clean, too!
Seriously, I have and love every single item on this list and I am hoping that you will find something to love, too! I would love for you to share what YOUR top favorite kitchen gadget is in the comments below. Maybe I never knew that I needed it! Have a great week, friends!!
