Hellooooo, my dear friends! I’m so glad to see you here! If you’ve been hanging in there through the moving and settling in you know that life got a little nutty there for a while. If you’re new here, welcome to the crazy! We recently moved (again) into a new build and I have lots of plans for her. She is a blank slate to cast my vision upon and I’m going to turn this house into a home, one project at a time. It’s my favorite thing to do.
I’ve been doing home DIY and projects for a long, long time and all the tools in the house are mine. I can’t wait to take you on this journey with me. I really hope you stick around! Right now I have contracted out all the trades to help finish my basement. You read that right! I have to have some help if we plan to use the basement before 2050😂 because if I was doing it by myself from scratch, that’s most likely when I would complete You can follow the progress on my stories!

HOME COMING

We made it!! We are finally home! We moved away from Colorado 10 years ago and I have always longed to come back. I grew up here and raised our kids here and so it just feels right to say we are finally HOME.

It has been a crazy month!! We made a decision in July and in 4 weeks we 1. Decided to move from PHX to DENVER. 2. Found a house 3. Bought a house 4. Finished the unfinished projects I had started in our PHX house 5. Got the house ready and listed the house 6. Sold the house in 4 days 7. Packed the entire house 8. Packed 4 PODS to move in 115 degree heat EVERY DAY 9. Handled new schools, paperwork needed for all the things 10. Drove to Denver in 16 hours in one day with a 3 car caravan.

I am EXHAUSTED!!! I didn’t do it alone so thanks to my family for going strong to help pull it together. I am SO happy! Our family is close and I don’t want anyone to miss a thing! Graduations, holidays, family dinners, babies, decorating, projects....Can you blame me??

Do you have a weird corner, too? One that doesn’t really make sense and leaves you wondering “what do I put here?” I contemplated a lot of different ideas in this one. Maybe I would build a bench and hooks like a little mudroom, maybe do a board and batten treatment, maybe just a bench to fill with shoes and backpacks? But I felt like this little corner should hold something that wasn’t so angular. It needed something with soft lines so this table (that I didn’t know what I was going to do with when we moved in) was the perfect fit in this space. It’s oddly one of my favorite little corners in this house. It may be because it welcomes you the moment you walk in the front door and is always “pretty”.

Don’t be afraid to try different things until it feels right! Go with your gut in your home and it will feel just right every time you walk in the door!

Home Coming

Remember when everything broke in my home over the course of a few days and I threatened to move? Well, we bought a new house! And I mean we bought a NEW house! Isn’t she cute??

WHY???? Didn’t I JUST move to AZ last year?? Yes, but....I was born and raised in Denver. Our children were born in Colorado. Our two oldest daughters live in Denver and there will be grandbabies on the way at some point. Their business is based in Denver (@balanceathletica )and our close family wants to be closer. And we don’t want to miss ANY of it. We didn’t think it would happen this fast. We thought maybe some day. But we found a great place to settle in so we went for it!

We want to start our high schooler at her new school right away so we will be moving in 4 weeks! 😱I’m totally not prepared and really stressed out, but I got this and THIS IS THE LAST MOVE! #canigetanamen

So, all my DIY, design and project loving friends, hang on to your pants because this is going to be a fun ride that I hope you will stick around for!!
