Have you ever hung a door? Or 10?? It isn’t as hard as you think! Here are a few tips:
1. Get a hanging system to help make things easier.
2. Be sure to install them on a finished floor or a piece of the flooring you’re going to install so that they sit high enough for the floor to go under.
3. Use a level to be sure they shut correctly.

In the words of Taylor Swift “are you ready for it?”

I have decided to be the general contractor on the basement finish. It hasn’t been easy and there is a reason people pay a GC a lot of money to manage their project. But, this is not my first finish and I was sure I could withstand the headache of hiring people to help.

I could have done some of the major work like framing and drywall, but we really wanted this done sooner than I would be able to make it happen #life.

So I hired the trades to do the major work - framing, HVAC, electrical, plumbing and drywall.

The drywall is starting so my daughter helped me lay the paper down to prep for the texture. What a MESS!!

Next week it will become all me (no more trades) and I start the fun stuff like paint, doors, trim, etc. all the things that make a space pretty.

There is nothing better than a plate full of yummy

There is nothing better than a plate full of yummy French Toast on a snowy Sunday Morning in Colorado! The key to making it super delicious just might be the fresh grated Nutmeg!

Easy Recipe:
~ 1 cup milk
~ 2 eggs
~ 2 tsp vanilla or vanilla extract
~ 1 tsp cinnamon
~ fresh grated Nutmeg (or ground Nutmeg)

Dip bread into batter quickly on both sides, don’t soak in batter, cook in medium skillet and flip once. Cook until cooked through (so inside isn’t soggy)

Serve with butter, warmed syrup and a sprinkle of powdered sugar

Hellooooo, my dear friends! I’m so glad to see you here! If you’ve been hanging in there through the moving and settling in you know that life got a little nutty there for a while. If you’re new here, welcome to the crazy! We recently moved (again) into a new build and I have lots of plans for her. She is a blank slate to cast my vision upon and I’m going to turn this house into a home, one project at a time. It’s my favorite thing to do.
I’ve been doing home DIY and projects for a long, long time and all the tools in the house are mine. I can’t wait to take you on this journey with me. I really hope you stick around! Right now I have contracted out all the trades to help finish my basement. You read that right! I have to have some help if we plan to use the basement before 2050😂 because if I was doing it by myself from scratch, that’s most likely when I would complete You can follow the progress on my stories!
